Round Antique Horsehide Stagecoach Trunk. Made of wood with a horsehide cover, and rounded out with worn leather trim. The leather secured by brass tacks. Hardware appears to be constructed from iron. The trunk features the initials “M.W.” spelled out in tacks. The inside of the trunk bears the original paper tag from the manufacturer, I. Sanford Trunkmaker.
The shape of the trunk is not precisely a dome-top, but instead almost a perfect cylinder with just enough truncation of the curve for a stable flat bottom. The iron keyhole cover bears the stamp “Patent”.

Item measures approximately 26″ Long x 12 1/2″ Tall x 14″ Deep.
Condition:
Item appears in Good pre-owned condition with wear commensurate with age and use. Iron hardware shows wear and signs of use. No key included with trunk. The left handle dangles free on one side, having broken free of its mounting. Horsehide cover appears worn in places. Leather trim shows heavy signs of wear, cracked and torn in multiple locations.
