Only 1 left in stock
This is a lovely Victorian Mahogany Gentleman’s Armchair with open arms, circa 1880. The chair has been reupholstered in an elegant gold fabric that features a dark red coat of arms motif. Made from beautiful mahogany, the design of the chair is simple yet elegant. The frame features plain carving and the tops of the arms end in a masculine scroll. A small carved decoration mounts the top of the frame. Consequently the result is elegant without the dainty features that would be present on a ladies chair of the period. The arms run down into cabriole style front legs that sit upon 2 original casters.
37” Tall x 26” Wide x 35” Deep
The open armchair is in very good condition considering the age of the piece. The item features wear commensurate with age and use. In particular, the fabric is not original to the piece as the item reupholstered. The upholstery sections of the armrests also show signs of use and the fabric is worn. The frame features scuffs and minor dents from use. The right hand caster is missing the brass collar so the wheel is more exposed than the other caster on the opposite leg.
