Vintage Cram’s Universal Terrestrial Globe 12″

A gorgeous 12 inch Vintage Cram’s Universal Terrestrial Globe made by the renowned George F. Cram Co. in Indianapolis, Indiana. This unique Mid Century globe trades the traditional blue oceans for a vivid black, creating a visually striking appearance. In contrast to the dark oceans, the landmasses are colored in vibrant pastels. The yellow, green, and blue colors allow for easy exploration of the globe. This Vintage Cram’s Universal Globe appears to be from the late 1960’s. Be sure to note the nautical distance and Analemma scale located in the black hued waters of the Pacific Ocean. This item is a fantastic relic from a bygone era. To illustrate, this vintage globe features a number of former country names, including U.S.S.R., Burma, Belgian Congo, Indochina, Rhodesia, and more.

 

 

Dimensions:

This Vintage Cram’s Universal Terrestrial Globe measures approximately 16 3/4″ Tall x 12″ Wide.

Additionally, the globe’s base measures approximately 7 1/2″ in Diameter.

 

Condition:

Pre-owned, this vintage globe is in Good condition with some wear commensurate with age. The globe spins well. In addition, the chrome base is covered in light pitting. The Semi-Meridian shows some minor signs of discoloration. Likewise, there is some wear to the globe, including light scuffs and minor loss of black in several places on the underside of the globe. The equator tape runs all the way around the globe. However, the equator tape is missing several small pieces along its run. Finally, be sure to review all photos as they are an important part of our description.
