Superb antique Victorian side chair (c. 1830s–1900s), beautifully carved and laminated in rosewood. This is believed to be a Victorian slipper chair, which was an armless chair originally designed for high-society ladies to use while slipping on their shoes or slippers.
The seat is upholstered with elegant needlepoint, showcasing pink roses and foliage on a rich black background. The intricately carved back features floral scrollwork and a central grape cluster, all characteristic of the era’s fine craftsmanship.
