This chest boasts fine examples of both traditional Japanese marquetry and parquetry craftsmanship.

Description
A truly fine example of a Japanese Campaign Form Chest. The workmanship is second to none and is such that would have been befitting an officer of the time. The finished lacquered marquetry and parquetry
work of both the exterior and interior displaying fine craftsmanship of the period.
The sturdy enclosing doors protect 6 small drawers and two drawers expanding the whole width of the cabinet. The lower drawer being much deeper.
The lacquered finish is mounted with brass ormolu type decoration.

There is little wear on this piece, although what there is, is conducive to age and careful use.
