Vintage No 1 Pocket Kodak Junior Camera

Vintage No 1 Pocket Kodak Junior Camera finished in brown leatherette with matching brown bellows. Manufactured by Eastman Kodak Co. from 1926 to 1932. This camera took six exposures, 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch size, on no. A 120 film without reloading. Fitted with a Meniscus Achromatic lens and Kodo shutter, it provided time and instantaneous exposures. Constructed with a sturdy aluminum body and covered with a durable leatherette material. Lastly, the metal parts were finished in nickel or color enamel to match the outside color of the covering. Kodak offered the camera in black or four different colors, green, brown, blue and gray. Features included a matching color bellows, auto-graphic feature, reversible brilliant finder, and a tripod socket.

According to photographer Mike Eckman, this model would have been above Kodak’s Brownie and Junior lines of folding cameras, but beneath their line of Special cameras. Popular for amateur photographers who wanted a camera with a capable lens and shutter, but at a price that was still affordable. These cameras were some of the last models made by Kodak before their switch to their unique 616 and 620 film formats.

Condition:

Item appears in Good pre-owned condition with wear and tear commensurate with age and use. Wear to the bellows from age. Leatherette shows scuffs, minor scrapes, and wear from use.
